The Collaborative for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
Workshop: Learner-Centered Course Redesign
January 31, 2012 from 12:30 to 2 PM
Mancheski Seminar Room, School of Business
Facilitated by Frances Rowe, Director of Instructional Design, QU Online
Are you concerned about...
Reaching your students in ways that achieve your learning goals?
Your students ability to be self-directed learners?
Are you looking for ways...
To replace passive learning with active learning?
To help students connect study in different disciplines to their daily life?
This workshop will engage participants in an interdisciplinary discussion about faculty concerns for their learning goals and high-impact course redesigns that have been found to enhance student learning. The discussion will be based on a case study from Designing Courses for Significant Learning: Voices of Experience (Fink, 2009).
If you are interested in serving on a community of practice for learner-centered course design, please note that this information will be addressed during the latter part of the workshop.
Lunch will be served. Please RSVP by Jan. 29.
