Academic and Career Advising: Beyond the Graduation Check-Sheet
Tuesday, April 23, 2013
12:30-1:45 PM
Mount Carmel Campus, Mancheski Executive Seminar Room
Presented by
Joe Catrino, Assistant Dean for Career Development, and Danielle Reinhart, Assistant Dean School of Communications
In the School of Communications, we are developing ways that students can benefit from a more intentional partnership between academic and career development professionals and faculty advisors. Through creation of a seminar series that focuses on the transition to college as well as the acquisition of professional and career-building skills, we are working to make the academic and career advising processes focused on mentoring rather than prescriptive advising (e.g. "what do I need to graduate?"). In this session, we will invite you to define what your students need to know and how you can challenge them to become collaborative partners in the academic and career development processes.
If you missed this workshop in January, now is your chance to participate! Please join us for lunch, learning and conversation.
Please RSVP by April 19
