11 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. “The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates”: A Presentation by Wes Moore

New York Times best-selling author and youth advocate Wes Moore knows that being a leader, both in your private life and in your profession, comes down to one thing: personal responsibility. Drawing on his experiences as a leader in the public and private sectors and in the military, Moore explains that embracing your own personal responsibility – and holding yourself accountable for your choices – is a quality that makes great "transformational leaders": leaders who create a vision, then inspire and empower those around them to execute that vision.

All freshmen will have read The Other Wes Moore (http://theotherwesmoore.com/) as a summer reading and QU 101 requirement.

Box lunches will be available following Wes Moore's presentation in the Recreation Center on Mt. Carmel campus prior to the Small-Group Conversations kick-off.

1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Small-Group Conversations - Students, Faculty and Staff

Kick-off from the Recreation Center, Mt. Carmel Campus

These small-group conversations will seek to engage new students in a shared academic experience and foster community dialogue. Faculty and staff are invited to participate as either facilitators or participants in these conversations.

Faculty or staff who wish to serve as facilitators of small-group discussions can contact quseminars@quinnipiac.edu for more information.
