This session focuses on multiple design elements that are used to give learners a clear and concise understanding of what they will be able to do when they complete the course and how their knowledge will be evaluated in a variety of ways.

1. Identify the importance of listing key competencies a student will be able to demonstrate at completion of the course.
2. Review multiple ways to assess student learning.  
3. Examine example assessment tools such as rubrics.
